Default Need more power

Hi guys I've noticed that my Impreza is lacking power, also turbo kicks in about 3000 to 3500 rpm's which I'm thinking is late.

Obviously need to look at why turbo is kicking in late but is there anything I can do? Regarding mods under the bonnet?
I think it's mapped but not sure, the chap who I bought the car of kept it in garage for well over a year and didn't use it.

My car
Subaru Impreza Catalunya 2.0 Turbo 1997 P
Uk spec Classic

Thanks in advance

best thing to do is get it on a rolling road to see what faults (if any) are there and if it been mapped etc and to make sure its all running correctly

the operator will give you advice on what to do once you have the results

choose a well known subaru specialist

Unless it's had ESL or some kind of stand alone ECU fitted you can be sure it's not been mapped. Mine is a 97 UK Turbo and was told all the ****e by the previous owner that it was mapped and blah blah blah.Turns out it had a manual boost controller and a stupid fuel cut defender fitted. I didn't know anything about Imprezas at that stage.

Open up the ECU for a look. If it's a standard ECU it'll most likely say 8S on the metal case. Just in case you don't know where it's located, it's below the carpet in the passenger side front footwell below a metal plate. Can be accessed easily in 5 minutes.
