No engine management light on ignition, but codes logged?
Hi, just bought my first Impreza, 2003 WRX Bugeye Wagon.
I don't get the engine management light come on with the ignition (expecting light on until you fire it up and then light goes out?). However I have an odb2 fault code reader which is showing P0031 and reporting that the MIL light is on.
I know the fault code is the front o2 sensor, I've tried clearing the code and then rechecking a few miles later and the code has returned.
Is it possible someone has disabled the engine management light?
Thanks for any info!

Unfortunately thesedays people do interfere with mil lights ,, cut bulbs out , bluetack or tape over the bulb etc etc on all types of vehicle - many times it would of been easier to just fix the issue that is causing the mil light to come on then to take the clocks apart and disable the mil light but its a strange old world
I would investigate your mil light and see whats physically been done - probably covered with black tape then correct the issues that youve found and anyone that reads this and is looking for a new car check the mil light operates as it should on start up

Took the clocks apart and yep the LED has been removed
Anyone know the spec of the LED so I can replace it? There is about 5-6mm of the legs remaining so should be easy to solder one on. I'm guessing it should be orange?
