Is Det this obvious with Detcans
Just been checking my Map and maybe i was a bit deaf on the last time i used the detcans but now im sure i can hear a slight metalic sound, very very faint, but it starts from around 3k on full throttle all the way thru the revs to top revs etc in 2nd gear or 5th gear full throttle.
would of thought if it was detting it would stop not continue thru the revs ?
is it as obvious as in the link ?
cheers

yeah, it didnt sound like crackling bacon, just very faint metalic sound throughout full throttle from low down to full revs, my timing at full throttle is very retarded and i thought advancing the timing caused Det
but guessing ive got it too retarded (as was mentioned to me in a previous post LOL) so will advance and see if the noise goes or gets worse
hmmm LOL

Yeah that's the sound good detcans can provide. Sounds like that knock box is doing some filtering but even basic detcans will provide a similar sound. I get similar sound from my homemade electrical det cans using a mix of knock sensors and microphone.
The borderline det ( BLD or DBL ) in that video was quite severe though, I would never run that much. Normal industry practice ( for OEM's not necessarily aftermarket tuning ) is to run to DBL -2deg.
Advance it a bit and see how it goes.
