Default STi hard pipe vs samco y pipe

evening all
im after some info that might help me out
I have a version 4 sti. ive recently brought a samco y pipe but I need to change the feeds into the intercooler I just want some advice on whether the samco has any advantages over the sti hard pipe

Its a lot easier to work with on fitting but I would stick with a hard pipe over the silicone/nomex type for personal preference and the fact I find samco products quite thin walled compared to their competitors.
