Default 8s ecu, 6s ecu

Need to know what wires to alter to make the 6s ecu work, I've heard it's on the crank sensor or if someone has a pin out drawing for both ecu's it would be very helpful

Cheers

Swap crank and cam. Fuel pump also different. It doesn't work a s a straight swap unless you also swap all the associated sti hardware over to the Uk car.

Do you mean like ICV, MAF and what else, I have heard it's just a case of wire swaps on the sensors ?

I'm not 100% but I think I read before that a car with a 6S has extra sensors fitted to the engine compared to an 8S. I had looked in to doing this too for my 97 UK T2000. It was gonna be a pain in the *** so I went for an ESL system instead.

So far I've changed the turbo, injectors FPR and god knows what else, I basically have to fit a rev limiter to stop it hitting 8k plus but I've heard it's just cam and crank sensor wires that stop it starting

You would have had a much better result for less money by fitting ESL in the first place and getting the most out of whatever setup you want to put together.

The turbo I already had and the injectors I got for next to nothing too, fuel pump was £35 from here and the only bit that costed was the sytec, so not mega money really

Fair enough I suppose, but you are still using an STi ECU on UK heads which will flow quite differently. You would get a better result on a mapped UK spec car than a standard STi. If you have to fit an aftermarket rev limiter as well it starts to look a bit self defeating.

Yeah true I guess but I've heard that the 8s ecu can't be remapped and sometimes they don't even have a provision to install a daughterboard hence why the change of ecu

You heard wrong. All 97/8s can be remapped with ESL.

I uploaded a pinout for you:

As Andy said, they can. My 8S is now fully customisable and has everything you could possibly need in an ECU for this model.
