Been to a few of these. Great venue and people and one of the few places you can max out your car on a track (had a indicated 150mph in my old bus). it is a bit hard on tyres though but well worth it
Looks good.
For those that have done it before what more can you tell us about the day?
I guess it will be some kind of coned off sprint on a wide tarmac runway?
Thanks
Rob

The track uses a combination of the airfield’s main runway and taxiways resulting in a track that is around 3 miles long consisting of wide, smooth tarmac and concrete with lots of safe run offs. There will be approx 1 mile of the main runway in use with many sweeping curves and chicanes along the taxiways.
There is more info on http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing...ackday+weekend
Yes it is a coned off runway/taxiway. It is not a sprint event but a proper trackday. There is one huuuuuge straight but lots of other corners,
see below, layout may change slightly and will be reversed in the afternoon

Normally they run sessions in the morning and open pit lane in the afternoon. Huge mix of cars attend from classic cars to monster Skylines and Ultimas. It is a very friendly event with everybody willing to help others and give advice on lines etc.

Guys,
Unfortunately as this is a front line operational air base the organisers have had to postpone, new date TBN. If you have booked you should have had your money refunded already by now. Message from the organisers:
"Dear all,
Regrettably, due to operational requirements, the track weekend scheduled for 28-29th April 2012 has been postponed until May 2012. The date will be confirmed next week but is likely to be 26-27th May. We will be refunding all payments made over the next few days and we'll open registration for the new dates as soon as this has been completed and the new dates confirmed. We felt that this was the best option rather than cancelling all together. The price for the event in May will be discounted as a gesture of goodwill. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused any of you. If you have any problems, please get in touch with us via the details on the contacts page of the website.
We thank you all for your continued loyalty, support and patience. Despite this busy period for operations at RAF Marham we're determined to hold this event!
We hope to see you all in May.
Regards
Track Day Team"
