I have a track day coming up next week and want to try and get the car to 4 wheel drift.

Last time i was out i had the car set up well and it was like it was on rails ... while this is how it should be, i love the sensation of a progressive slide (im used to Mk1 Escorts).

Now my WRX has been mapped by Racedynamix and i have BC adjustables and whiteline adjustable ARBS front set to soft and rear set to mid and i'm running RE070's.

how can i set the car up so it will drift?

 

Doubt this will really be much help to you, with a different setup, but I found just braking later and through the apex got some really nice drifts going at the weekend, just loaded the front up nicely so the back end came round without a fuss!


I'd imagine a stiffer rear anti roll bar would do the trick.

thats plenty m8 you should get a drift on without even thinking about it,rounabout for instance go into it with intention but not to quick go into it wide a tug toward the roundabout combined with throttle but make sure your ready to switch locks once the back end goes,if i were you id go find a car park and use the same principles,you dont have to stay in there sreaming around waiting for police to turn up just find an empty one and on your way out in 2nd sharp turn and nail it,then drive on to the next car park lol

 

lol, not many car parks over here without cctv... ive got a track day on sunday and they are normally quiet as noone wants to pay £90 for 4 hours.

Ive made some changes to the rear ARB and changed it to hardest setting and i can feel the difference on turn in alone on the road. so i will give it ago up there ... at least plent of run off if i do get it wrong

 

re this, if you want to learn to slide a car why make it grip more? u will have to go quicker to get the same effect hence a bigger crash when it goes wrong

Take some standard 16" with you as it will take less effort to break the traction due to smaller size and width and some cheap tyres and go have a play, you will find the limits at a lot lower speed if you do go off you are less likely to have a biggy! if it wont take 16" just try some cheapo tyres as narrow as you can get on the rims.

once you are confident then work on the tyres + susp.

Soften the front and stiffen the rear.

 

Hope that it rains, a damp track makes it much easier and you're less likely to suffer from it snapping back and spitting you off.
