Sti type ra gearbox broken/needed/rebuilt
Right guys, i'm in need of your help. Just done a trackday at oulton park with my 96 sti type ra and the gearbox has shat its self.
Its a 752 box type and is dccd, im looking for a good direct replacement or a later 754 box that would fit the bill. I don't really know enough about the later boxes and if I could still retain the dccd or not.
The other option is to get my box rebuilt, im hearing good things about david at api.
Any input much appreciated Tim.

Hi, cheers for the reply, my gearbox code is 6b- ty752vb3ea I don't know if that tells you anything as to what version it is? If I go 4 a later type box as you said how would I go on with my diff etc? I think I'm on a plated r180 at the mo, but I'm not 100% on that. Is there anyway of identifying if for defo? Thanks again Tim.

Good 754 gearbox needed.
A little more help needed please, ive found out that im running a 160 rear diff so im on the look out for a gud 754 box that is a mate for my diff and car, which is a 96 v2 sti type ra. If anyone can help with advice or knows of any boxes for sale give me a shout. Cheers tim.

Thanks for the reply AS performance, although not really the news I wanted to hear! ;-) so my choices are to go for a 754 box and matching diff or have mine rebuilt. How would I go on with drive shafts etc if I went for the 754 with matching diffs. Do you guys rebuild boxes? Many thanks Tim.

I've got a 1995 WRX STI Type RA with DCCD and would sell the box with/without the rear diff as the rest of the car is in bits at the mo and it'll be rebuilt with a 6 speed anyway.
The sticker has come off the box so can't confirm which it is sorry.

Thanks for the reply, I'm currently leaning towards a later type 754 gearbox and matching 160 diff or rebuilding and strengthening my 752. Don't just want to go to all the hassle of swapping my box for another 752 for it to shat itself on the 1st outing again as it looks like they are a weak box. I will bear it in mind tho and thanks for the reply. Tim
