N20 I/C spray = easy 20-30 hp?
#1
I just finished two hours of reading posts about Nitrous, and was intrigued by several references to spraying N2O instead of water into the TMIC. Unfortunately, it seems like this would not have the typical N2O advantage of eliminating turbo lag if you run an automatic IC spray system, although it seems that if you run a manual IC spray switch, it might be a great way to reduce turbo lag. If there are no ill effects, a 20-30 hp increase for the relatively low cost of an N2O system is a pretty good deal!
Is there any reason this idea wouldn't be safe? Would it tend to consume more or less nitrous than a normal, say, 50 shot? (ie, would the bottle have to be refilled more or less often?). It seems like it might consume less nitrous, assuming all N2O that is sprayed actually makes it into the TMIC.
Also, would one want to use STi nozzles, which spray a very fine mist, or different nozzles, that spray a heavier mist (and consequently require more frequent fillings of the resevior)?

I think they use the NOS to spray ONTO, not INTO the IC.
The sudden loss of pressure in the bottle generates ice-cold fluids, and when sprayed onto the IC -voila, lower charge temps.
I've seen this on some cars, looks pretty 'cool'
