As above really. Does the pressure plate need to come off to get the clutch release bearing off?

I think it will have to come off, can't see how you'd get the snap ring off without taking the cover off tbh.

If you're not replacing the clutch disc, mark out where it sits at the moment to help with alignment (unless you've got a clutch alignment tool)

No you can get them off without taking the cover off, gentle pry with a small scrapper between the bearing and the silver tin ring on the cover plate and it will come out
