STI 7 Jap Vs UK differences
#1
Just been looking at an old edition of autocar and notice that the Jap version redlines at 8000 Rpm and my Type UK at 7,500.
I thought the differences were just breathing mods, no HID, underseal and some suspension tweeks?
Why is the UK engine restricted to 7,500 RPM.
I want my 500 revs back

There's loads of diffferences (compared mine to Joseph's Jap car a few weeks back).
Engine mods are ECU, diff AFR meter, injectors as mentioned, UK 4 piece exhaust as opposed to JDM 3 piece; plus bigger cat on UK, and 8000 rpm limit on JDM as you say.
JDM allegedly different suspension setup.
Also no third rear inertia reel seatbelt on JDM, or fold down centre armrest, intercooler water spray tank in boot of UK and under bonnet on JDM, blah blah could go on forever!
(actually, that's a lie, it's all I can think of ).
