Default Gearbox / Front Diff oil

To me this sounds like a stupid question but I can't find an exact answer.
Does the gearbox and front diff share the same oil? The reason I ask is looking up on Opie Oils for fluids for my car it lists 3.5l for the gearbox & 1.5l for the front diff. Plus I can't find anything in my workshop manual about changing front diff oil just the gearbox oil.
It's a 2004 UK STi.
Can someone please clear this up for me.
