1st and 2nd slightly difficult to select
Hello, I've had my 2005 STi for a few weeks now and I'm just posting up a quickie about selecting first and second gear, it's probably/hopefully nothing but just want some piece of mind really.
If I'm shifting down from second into first for example it's difficult to get the lever into first. Shifting into second is better, but still slightly stiff.
All other gears are fine...
Is this likely just worn bushes on the linkage or something like that? Alternatively is it early signs that my gearbox is going to explode into a thousand pieces?
It may even be a quirk of the car, as my old car (FN2 Type R) has a notoriously smooth gearbox... maybe I'm just spoiled?
Is there anything I can inspect/check on my driveway with a basic set of tools?
Thanks,
Fonz
