Lightbulb

Ok lightened flywheel and ap clutch just fitted to my99 with ppp. When i now lift off the throttle and engage the clutch the revs 'hang' for a bit before they start to drop meaning the rpm is still high when the clutch is disengeged.

Now performance wise i have no problem with this, the question is when there is a lower moment of inertia surely the revs should drop faster than when the flywheel was standard weight, so why don't they??

(no i'm not blipping the throttle )

Question

Has it anything to do with the dump valve?

The reason I say that is I have noticed on my car the revs (when looking at the rev counter) "hang" for a split second before dropping...boost related I think.

Mind you, I have had a drink and it has just taken me 10mins to type this!

Good luck, MD.

the "hanging" of the revs for a split second has as far as I know got something to do with exhaust emissions. the engine management controls this, so lightening your flywheel will make no difference.
