Question

Not really wanting to go the whole way and decat the full system I was wondering if anyone knew about down pipe and up pipes that carried sports cats?

It would allow for less restricted air flow while retaining a certain level of emission legality.

Cheers,
Mark

Power Engineering & APS (both 3" exhaust line), Supersprint and here, in France, Madac.
They all do sport cats.

Wink

I don't think anybody makes aftermarket cat equiped uppipes. As suggested above downpipes are available from a number of sources, including GGR, Brullen and MRT.

PS MATTeL - you going all tree hugging?

I'm not going all tree-hugger on us. I just don't want to fully decat the car... not convinced that it is the best way to go.

The cat in the up pipe is by far the most restrictive. The pipe itself is only about 1.25" and the car is horrifically restrictive. Getting that reduced would certainly free up the air flow and give the associated increases.

I thought the cat in the down-pipe was the most restrictive???
Just received my decat downpipe this morning.Do you really need to do the up-pipe cat? How much difference does the up-pipe de-cat actually make? (I've heard the up-pipe's are a bitch to fit as well!!! )

nick,
i did the full decat from the turbo back last year, and noticed a big difference from standard. changing the up-pipe a few weeks ago made a similar difference.

like you say it's a bitch to do but not much more trouble than the down pipe- the d/p is a bitch to get off as thre studs are usually v. tight, the u/p requires you to lift the engine slightly (and they don't fit very well either) but well worth doing for the increased sound effects and flames!

we usually fit the de-cat up-pipe in about 3 to 4 hours.
