Thanks + A Few questions
#1
This is my First post, but I have been reading this board for at least 6 months, Just want to say thanks to all you people for all the help your posts have given me.
Wednesday next week, I will be picking up my RB5 (scooby land at last), and I have some questions....
First of all I plan to do some mods within the first few months(It would be a crime not to)
My car had the prodrive proformace kit fitted at new. Is the ECU the same as a normal MY99 turbo? Would I see much benefit from getting a ecutek remap Like a tek2?
The exhaust.. Would getting a scooby sport or other proformance exhaust make much difference?
Thanks.

Hi,
The ECU fitted to your RB5 is an STI one re-mapped by Prodrive, so it's not the same as a MY99.
Personally, I wouldn't remap your Prodrive one. You could easily sell it 2nd-hand, exchanging std ECU's with the seller, then get a Tek3 custom remap. This is the route John Banks is taking.
AFAIK, the Prodrive backbox is a bit less restrictive than say a Scoobysport one, but I think you'd only notice an increase in noise and not BHP. You'd be better changing the downpipe if you want some more performance out of it.
