Removing sump in situ

Is it possible to remove / refit the sump cover with the engine still in the car ?
(Early MY's)
Do you have to undo engine mounts and raise the engine slightly ?
I don't actually want to remove/refit it, but have a very slight oil seep at the rear, and I can't get to the rear sump bolts to try to tighten them
Thanks for any feedback

hi stephen,
the sump sits above the cross member, never tried to remove it without taking the engine out, but would have thought it would be trouble.
problem is, the gearbox doesnt lift much with the engine.
its worth knowing that i had a leak (not much of one) again at the back of the engine. sorted that when i done the clutch....it was the rear crankshaft oil seal.
good luck
