In the last couple of days the two brackets that hold the Scoobymania downpipe to the car have both broken off by the welds . What is the strongest welder that will be able to fix this or does anyone have any other suggestions????

Help as the rattling is driving me crazy & it is currently only held to the car by the turbo-end bolts!!!!

Maffa.

They are 304 grade Stainless Steel. I'm amazed they've broke.
Get your engine mounts checked at the same time?

Strongest welder?

Cracking on a weld is not a good sign... if the weld has cracked then it is a poor weld.. Or has it snapped around the weld?

Thanks guys. No it was around the weld so it's not shoddy welding & i'm gonna get the engine mounts checked.

If my engine mounts are found to be shot where can I get some from & how much would I be looking to pay?

Be careful and get that fixed ASAP, and check engine mounts.

Now, the stress is layed on the turbo-house, you don't wanna get cracks there.

Maffa,

I assume it's over a year old as you should get it replaced under warranty.

I think it's just over a year old but i've spoken to Mike (above post) & he has kindly offered to weld it back together. The problem I tink will be with the engine mounts letting the engine excert to much pressure on the exhaust causing the brackets to snap. I will get this checked first & then look towards welding as it will only happen again if this is the problem.

Cheers

This problem is still not fixed & i'm not a technical wizz but three garages have told me three different welders to use. Now I don't want to get this wrong so which one is it???

Also the engine mounts are fine. It was the brace that stops engine rocking by holding it to the back of the engine bay. This was almost completely undone Took the intercooler off & tightened it so it's cool now Phew!!!!
