I recently had all my fluids done and for the gearbox and diff, I used Millers CRX 75W90 NT. Apparantly, its good enough for motorsport.

Use what it tells you in the book, which I think is a 90 and not a 75/90.

75W90 is a correct grade, as my Subaru specialist confirms.

Well I put that in my 06 STI rear diff (maybe the 05 is different) and it nearly ripped itself to pieces.
I then checked out the manual and it was for 90 which happened to be an LS grade. It worked fine. Something to do with plated rear diff or something. 75W90 was fine up front/gearbox though.
The last time I took my car to a "subaru specialist" he completely f*cked it up. Not API by the way.
So my advice is check the manual that came with the car.
