Hi just a quick 1, but which oil do i go for when changing the rear diff oil on a 2005 sti? not sure it makes a difference but its the widetrack model with dccd. cheers
75W90 is a correct grade, as my Subaru specialist confirms.
Well I put that in my 06 STI rear diff (maybe the 05 is different) and it nearly ripped itself to pieces.
I then checked out the manual and it was for 90 which happened to be an LS grade. It worked fine. Something to do with plated rear diff or something. 75W90 was fine up front/gearbox though.
The last time I took my car to a "subaru specialist" he completely f*cked it up. Not API by the way.
So my advice is check the manual that came with the car.
