Is there a need for a 3 port solenoid?
I have the following setup on my Subaru WRX STI Newage.
Welbro Fuel pump.
K&N panel filter
decat 2.5" exhaust with ninja 2 rear box
Open source remap
Exedy Clutch
Probably running about 320-330 BHP would anyone advise if I should also have a 3 port solenoid fitted.
I've always wanted to upgrade the bhp/torque from standard safely. I've heard of some owners having a solenoid fitted whereas others who opted not too even though they probably running more brake then me. Since I've upgraded to the above, I'm probably not wanting to upgrade any further so my question is, Is there any real benefit in a 3 port solenoid? And would I notice the boost being held for longer with my current setup if I did get one fitted.
Advise, experience much appreciated.

A 3 port solenoid allows for more accurate stability of the boost control more than anything, but doesn't hinder power and torque extraction on a standard car running a 2 port solenoid.
Running more boost at the top end doesn't necessarily translate into more power, especially if either the turbo isn't efficient at that boost, or the mods don't allow the engine to breath well enough at the top end.
My suggestion would be to get it on the dyno to give you an idea of what you are running power wise. General power figures on these cars are as you suggest, with not a lot more than 340bhp with a lot of supporting mods.
