Default G/box and diff oil change

2006 Hawkeye Sport non turbo

6 year 72k service

I assume change both front and rear diff oil and g/box oil.

Both the owners manual and the latest Subaru service schedule tell different stories.

Do I do all three or only the rear diff.

What is the official Subaru advice.

Hi

You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and diff*and here are the ones we have.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90.aspx

If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Motul Gear 300, Redline 75w-90NS and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox. The Castrol Syntrax, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives. The Fuchs Syn 5 & Sintopoid, Motul Gear 300LS/300/Motylgear, Millers CRX NT/NT LS and Redline GL5 are ideal for the diff.

Cheers

Thank you oilman for your reply kind reply but you did not answer the question asked.

The question is which components need their oil changed, not what oils that your company stocks suit the Impreza.

Your companies input on this and other motoring forums (mx5 owners club) is excellent but in this case a touch off topic.

With the DCCD set up they can be very fussy, so the only one I tend to recommend is the Motul Gear 300. That will do the lot. Some people use the Millers CRX75w-90 and say that's fine, but a couple of people have told me it doesn't work out in their car.

Personally I'd go for the 5w-40 in the engine, but you can use a 10w-40. The Gear 300 is right for the gearbox and diffs.

There are a few - Fuchs Pro S, Millers CFS, Redline, Motul 300V and Gulf Competition. Despite what the makers might say, we've found that they all give pretty similar results, so as the Fuchs and Gulf are on offer, I'd go for one of those.

Cheers
