Default Clutch query.

My clutch is on it`s last legs but I don`t know what to go for. I assume the one in it is standard and I`m happy with the `feel` of it. My question is, would a standard one cope with 340 bhp. I don`t track or race it and I don`t drive it like I stole it Cheers.

I`m not fussed about uprating. I`m not going for any more power, I just want something that will handle what I`ve got ;-)

if your car is the sti then yes the standered clutch will cope with that sort of power all day long.

Anyone know the cheapest place to get a standard STI clutch? Cheapest I`ve seen so far is £258.99!

Hi

Hope you don't mind jumping onto your thread?

But I am after a new clutch to fit to MY99 UK Turbo engine ready for when I put it back in the car. Car is standard tune, with not plans to increase.

Quick look around the going price is just under £200!!

Cheers

How do you know its on its way out.... Mine bites around half way but feel strange, almost as if the cable is getting caught on something, it works fine though?

They are hydraulic so no cable to get caught the peddle might need a little greasing. Or system could be low on fluid or one of the cylinders is leaking/getting stuck. If its still pulls like a train without over revving when pulling off etc theres nothing wrong with the clutch itself.

My standard sti clutch has just started slipping
It's delt with 450 hp 425 lb of torque though .....
So the one you've fitted should be bomb proof
Upgrade time for me
