Nasty clunk from rear diff I think
Hi folks, can anyone offer some advice? This week my car has developed an awful sounding clunk which occurs when turning left with power on. I've checked wheel bolts and they're tight, and there's no rubbing anywhere on the standard suspension. It sounds to me like the rear diff is "winding up" and then releasing with a loud clunk.
Can anyone suggest anything to aid diagnosis?
Also, I have a squeaking rear left brake cos the disk is lipped - could that be related?

Just in case anyone else has this issue, it was a handbrake shoe which had come loose and was seizing up inside the disc. It needed new discs, pads, shoes, and the handbrake assembly as it was all mangled.
