Excellent news for us cat free cars > read on

Ive usually had to blag my MOT's with a handfull of twentys to bypass the old emissions test but as time goes on its getting harder and harder SO.....

Yesterday Len at www.subaru4you.co.uk made up a double catted midpipe and today I gave it its maiden test at our local MOT station....

RESULT:PASS <by miles>

for the techies it was:
CO% 0.11 where the limit is 0.30
HCppm 17 where the limit is 200
Lamda 1.01 where the limits are (LO) 0.97 - (HI) 1.03

So for a small fee you can pop over, have the 4 bolts undone, pop the doublecat centre pipe on and get your local garage to MOT the car, too easy really.

happy MOTing
Dan

My MY97 wagon passed the MOT with a Full scoobysport system anyway.
Tester said it was within the limits as the fuel injection is efficient. Dont know if it was a fluke as yet to try it on my RB5 WR sport with same exhaust fitted, but its due its first MOT in September so I will let you all know

I'm sure if the car is running properly then it will pass. My Range Rover, being a V8 has one cat per cylinder bank, I removed one cat because it broke up inside ( LR wanted 1200 quid for a new one ) and it still passes the emissions easily even though it only does about 14mpg.

hmmm. Very odd. So I wonder if you could get away with a completey decat system then on a scooby!

If not ideally then a standard cat mid section with decat DP and performance BB would be best really then, to be safe like.

Fair comments guys but remember that the law says that any car after 1992 has to have a cat, and any MOT station can fail the car if it dosent have one
