Wrx And Type Ra Gearbox Question.
Guys my 3rd gear syncro is dying so need to replace my box,
The car will be used in sprint type driving,very hardly sees over 110mph
just needs a good get up and go.
So im looking at fitting a lower ratio V2 ra gearbox i have been searching for a bit and found some info but just looking for a bit more on this change, just advice from guys that have used theses boxs or done the change.
Here are the ratios charts from the both boxs:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Final drive.
JDM Wrx 3.454 2.062 1.448 1.088 0.825 4.111
JDM V2 Ra 3.454 2.333 1.750 1.334 0.972 4.111
Am I right in saying if i came out of a tight 2nd gear corner at the the same revs with both boxs the Ra box would get me up to speed and Rpm's faster than that of the OEM Wrx Box??
Is the swap a like for like case or are some sensors different??
and being the final drive is 4.111 in both boxs does that mean i can use my OEM Wrx diff??
