can anyone tell me how long it takes to fit a new gear box in? i have brought a second hand gearbox and they have striped mine ready to put this one in. aparently its a day job most places have said, they already have the gearbox out, just have to fit and set and set new one up? any ideas??

im desperate for the car weekend, they have two days to do it.i can just imagine them saying no as they have mucked me aroung on this for three weeks. another garage said a good days work max.

I have done it befor and it took me on a 4 poster ramp about 1/2 a day .

big bear cheers mate, so it aint a two day job then, i just wanna no in case they say it wont be ready. ive been told as the box is out and its a straight swap a day most. kool. ill have em if it aint ready!

Wouldn't say that I know what I'm doin' , just got a mate who has his own garage to give me help and advice .

If all goes OK, around 3-4 hours it should be driving away.

Is is all obvious. How did you align the clutch assembly when re-fitting?

4th gear syncro suffering with 280lb-ft!

cheers mike, so the garage have two days to do it, they should not be able to fob me off then, if they dont do it well there being lazy or dont give a sh*t.
