I asked this couple of weeks back, can't find the thread.

Has anyone else heard from their dealer about the above? It's a recall for the gearbox oil pump shaft. Apparently the shaft in some batches manufactured bet Sept 00 and Mar 01 have shafts not up to spec.

Does anyone know what it takes to replace this shaft? Is it a gearbox out job? So far there has only been one *reported* failure worldwide, so I'm not overly concerned.

Tks.

It's a gearbox out job, I'm making enquiries about possible solutions at the moment, will post more when i've had some replies back.

Cheers Mike.

If its a gearbox out job, I'll consider replacing the clutch / flywheel at the same time. Apprec if you're able to forward me instructions on how to c/o the shaft replacement. Also, I will need to somehow obtain the new pump shaft (can pay for it if necessary).

Heard from my dealer that it takes 4 hours to do an "inspection". I assume that this inspection is not the actual replacement. Do you know exactly what they're looking for when they "inspect"?
