Question

Just after some feedback from people with this as to what sort of improvement they saw, and any thoughts on it.

Cheers

Hi Matt,

I had the TEK2 installed at PE on Thursday. On the dyno I was getting 263bhp and 255 lbft torque although it was a mild evening and the ECU was still advancing to adjust to the 98 RON. I expect it would be around the 269/260 others have seen on a suitably cold day.

In terms of performance, the boost is raised to 17PSI and the delivery is exceptionally smooth. I had a Dawes device before which was wound up to roughly the same boost but the TEK2 is noticably less peaky in the output. Also I was suffering from a flat spot lower down in the rev range because the K&N induction kit was causing it to run lean. Since the Tek2 this problem has gone away as the fuelling is increased in that area to compensate.

If you don't have the Dawes device you will notice a massive improvement in torque and driveability. If you have the Dawes you won't notice such a difference in torque but it will be smoother and your ECU can regain control over boost and full knock correction.

Hope this helps !

Andy.

Question

Cheers Andy, I haven't got a Dawes, so sounds lke a big difference for me.

Out of interest, do you know what your figures were before the map?

I'm getting 241lb/ft and 250bhp (approx).

Matt,

Mark Khan has recently had a Tek2 and he loves it - I can't find the original thread but in this thread he mentions it. You could mail him and ask some questions.....

Yep, I've got one too. The map's still adjusting (mine was one of the first so Merv was being careful & seeing how it responded - no problems for me as I'm very near PE & can easily go back again), but still excellent, & I think there's some extra boost to come . I also had a Dawes before - the Tek2 gives more power as well as torque, and the extra control over what the Dawes gave (a bit on/off) is great. Definately worth the cash

Hi Matt,

My figures before the Dawes & Tek2 were 236bhp / 240 lbft. That was just with the full SS system and the K&N.

You will definitely notice a big difference from standard, especially if you have the poxy AE802 ECU !

£625+VAT at the moment 'cos they need to be RR'd & set up individually, like the PE phase 1. Should be £500 when they're happy with a standard map, PPP style. No idea when that'll be
