Default What rear diff on Spec C?

Chaps, i've searched and cannot find a definite answer to my question.

The Spec C supposedly runs a mechanical rear diff as opposed to a Torsen unit on the UK cars.

So, is this "mechanical" LSD a gear or clutch LSD? I'll be getting the rear diff oil changed soon, so i wanna get the correct type of oil. I won't mind some thoughts on type of oil to use too.

Gearbox code is TY856WB8JA.

The spec c runs a mechanical clutch type rear diff as oppose to the suretrac diff on other models....

Dont know about the oil though but would assume a 75w 90 is the correct oil.

Thats what i have in my mechanical rear diff....

What rear diff do you have?

Yup, 75w90 is whats stated. But should i be using an oil with LSD properties or regular gearbox/transaxle oil?

Default Diff oil

You need Silkolene BO90LS. I've put it in my MY07 Spec C.

Best regards,

Ian

And what is the equivalent in Motul? I was thinking Motul FF-LSD, seems like thats the only oil in Motul's range for LSD diffs.

Can you guys confirm if the Spec C has a clutch LSD instead of a gear based one? I just spoke to the dealership, and the guy in charged of the group n team said it comes with a gear lsd.

And what rear LSD do the Group N cars come with?

Gearbox with the code TY856WB8JA uses a front helical LSD and a mechanical-clutch LSD in the rear!
