Question

What is the difference between the standard P1 exhaust system and a UK Turbo MY00? I know the P1 has an STi badged backbox but other than that are they the same?

I *think* that the centre section is different and the end of the BB is larger and has STi written on it but other than that, they are basically the (restrictive) same.

The centre section is just a resonator as far as I know. The standard P1 box ( which has STi stamped on it) is very restrictive as it is pretty narrow with only the final 4 or 5 inches or so after the back box itself, expanding out to the full size, whereas the P1 Prodrive upgrade box, which has P1 stamped on it, is much less restrictive and makes a nice noise. Not as loud as Scoobysport etc and probably more restrictive , but not a bad compromise. With the Sti back box the car is virtually silent, well you know what I mean.

In addition to the differences above, the downpipe contains a freer-flowing cat than the standard item.
