Default STI 03 6 speed gearbox, what rear diff?

Hi!
I've bought on the market here a 6 speed conversion kit, code TY856WN3CA, and the seller has said that this parts are all from a STi 03 car..
The kit was complete of front and rear hubs and driveshafts, rear tranny, 6 speed gearbox, flywheel, rear calipers, etc.
The clutch is a 230mm, the gearbox code is TY856WN3CA, the rear calipers are only one pot, and the diff is an r160 with LSD.
The parts are all correct for a 03 sti car? I was excepting an r180 rear diff and 2 pot calipers...

Really thanks!

I have got the same problem, was this kit installed in a classic?

Seems as itīs common to use the small diff for less hassle... ;( and everybody thinks he got the big diff in the rear...

If you have a STI MY03, you canīt install this small diff in the rear without changing the hubs and shafts as well and it would be a step backwards!!!
If you own a classic Impreza just use it as I do!
I didnīt get a LSD in the rear as promised, you are luck to even get a LSD!

Yes, this kit will go on my v4 classic, on the front i have already the subby 4 pot calipers (v5 i think), on the rear stock 1 pot with solid discs...
So the rear with vented disks will be an upgrade, but i've asked few times at the seller if at the rear there was an r180...
I'll hope that with 500bhp the r160 didn't break... The r180 seem to be more strong!
The gearbox seem ok (i've still not tested it on the car) but i can't feel anywhere play or crunch, and the gears enter fairly well...
I've paid the whole 1600gbp...

The seller has said me that the whole kit was removed from a 2003 sti car....

I use my car mostly on the track and quartermile and my R160 diff is in one piece after 100+ dragstarts with about 400bhp.
If you lookup my prev thread here, you can see that Banny is in the same boat with us and his R160 diff didnīt break yet as well!
So fingers crossed and hopefully our reardiffs will take the abuse for a long time!

Btw. I payed even more for my gearbox and diff, but Iīm very disappointed with the delivered reardiff and parts! ;(
Hopefully the gearbox is in perfect condition as it was guaranteed by the seller!

Uh, i'll hope that it last.... The car will be for most street driven, but it will surely see som hard days on tracks
And i'll hope that my gearbox is good as it seem now It has said that the box has 40'000miles....
So, for now, apart that i've asked if it was selling an r180 and shipped an r180, if it work still seem that i've done a 'good' deal....
In any case i will check if the ratio of the rear diff is right... I don't want to damage the center diff for a 'bricolage'...

A bit more info...
Seem that the wrx cars got a viscous coupling lsd, while the sti had clutch lsd's....
The weak point on the r160 wrx seem the viscous coupling diff (the spider gears).
So the sti diff maybe can handle more power. Or an r160 with aftermarket diff.

The UK/EU 6 speeders have 3.54 ratio reardiffs and the JDM 3.9, of course the frontdiff of all 6 speeders is 3.9.

Correct, AFAIK in uk/euro gearboxes there is final reduction of 1.1:1 before to go on the rear axle shaft. 3.9/1.1 = 3.545
