Hello all, i'v just been for a blip across the moors and after flying up a steep hill i have lost positive spring return for the gear stck. It should sit centrally when in neutral but it is now flopping around between 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th, there is still the spring return to central from 5th/reverse position. i was wondering if anyone has any idea what this may be, the car still drives exactly the same and gear selection is normal apart from this fault. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, many thanks Tom

I had this on one of mine and it turned out to be a spring missing from the bottom of the gear lever (access from below the car).

as he said.... if its returning whenn going into gear its the bush in the linkage is missing,,,, but yours is the spring look below

Thanks guys, this has helped a lot, gonna get it on the ramps on thurs and have a gander - nice one for the schematic at least i know what im searching for. much appreciated. Tom
