Help - ECU Reset Error Code 43?
#1
All,
Just did a diagnostic check on My96 (PPP ECU)
connected black connectors & got OK (alternate flashes).
In normal driving mode I do not get a check engine light or any errors codes either.
However, I performed ECU Reset Black & Green Connectors - after a couple of minutes I get Error 43 (Four Long Flashes Three Short).
I cannot find what Error 43 is - Any ideas please?
Also afer the reset I did another diagnostic Check All is OK ie Error Code 43 not stored & also when back in normal driving mode I never see a Check Engine Light.
Whats going on - What is Error 43!?
H E L P.
Thanks,
Chris

As a folow up guys these are the codes I know (If there are any missing please let me know):
CODE ITEM
11 Crankshaft position sensor
12 Starter switch
13 Camshaft position sensor
21 Engine coolant temperature sensor
22 Knock sensor
23 Mass air flow sensor
24 Idle air control solenoid
31 Throttle position sensor
32 Oxygen sensor
33 Vehicle speed sensor 2
35 Purge control solenoid valve
42 Idle switch
44 Wastegate control solenoid valve
45 Pressure exchange solenoid valve
51 Neutral position switch
However I'm still desperate for 43?
Could this be a PPP ECU Specific thing?
Still looking for H E L P...
Cheers,
Chris

Sorry Chris, but where are those black ecu diag connectors you mentioned in my "Check Engine Light" post? Are they under the steering column?
Cheers,
Stefan
PS. No idea what error code 43 is; shame Search is still knackered

Ok,
I'm led to believe that Trouble Code 43 refers to "The Accelerator Pedal Switch".
Whats that !? - Throttle position Sensor - Yes - Error 31
But "The Accelerator Pedal Switch" are these the same things or is there something else?
Any further Info gratefully appreciated.
Regards,
Chris
PS - Ozzy
Updated my web page with further ECU Code info - will add photo of these connectors tomorrow (in light of day) - but to answer your question - Yes under steering column & may be quite high up under dash & may even be taped up with black insulating tape. But they are there honest
