Default Driveshaft issues?

Just wondering if impreza's suffer from driveshaft issues?

I happened to mention to my service manager at the dealership i work in today (not subaru, i wont mention who i work for lol) that i was planning on buying an impreza in the summer - he started laughing to himself and told me theyre nothing but trouble, especially with the driveshafts going. and that it would be over £800 for new driveshafts. He suggested i do some more homework before buying and that i then might realise that id need to win the lottery first.

Im inclined to think he's talking poo , can you guys confirm this lol?
