I'm thinking of upgrading my GT turbo 2.0-litre whit the following:
- Strengthened and balanced crankshaft
- descend Crankshaft Bearings
- descend Conrod Bearings
- Billett Steel Conrods
- 3 Piece Steel Head Gaskets
- Engine Block (Bored and honed
- Big Fuel Injectors
- Closed Deck
- Port and polish cylinder heads
- Vf22
But why not teak an EJ25 engine and do all this modifications must get 400 bhp
Any one don this can you give some tips

Kurt,

Your plan sounds good, but you should also consider a set of forged pistons like Cosworth, JE etc

To get over 400 brake - bench dyno brake - you will either need to run loads of boost on a 2 litre, or go up on the CC. Genuine closed deck EJ25s are a tad hard to find, but there are people converting open deck EJ25 to semi and fully closed deck in the USA and Australia. You could order a completely built engine from these guy's if you had the money, 5000GBP +

The other option is to get you hands on an EJ22 block. You can buy genuine closed deck blocks from the US if you want to go this route, and the advantage here is that an EJ22 uses the same crank as the EJ20

On the turbo front, a VF22 isn't strong enough in standard form, so look at hybrid versions, again to get the power over the 400 mark you will need a big turbo and may need to look beyond the IHI VF series, something like a special Garret with a unique up pipe, downpipe and separate wastegate

I assume you have also thought about the ECU, Intercooler, exhaust and so on
