AFAIK your car originally came with a ty752 if your car is an MY98, if it was/is an MY99 then it has the better/stronger ty754, so going backwards isnt a good move....

Hi tony sorry my car is 99 an came with a ty754 box on it i no this is the stronger/better box than the ty752 1 what i now have but at the moment my funds are really tight an the ty752 box come up at a bargin price an is all i could really afford to get the car back running as i needed it back on the road asap so soon as funds allow the orignal box is getting recond on going back on the car....

YUP:- possibly BIG trouble Nath. the JDM box will be on direct drop gears and needs the same front diff as the rear. So the UK99 STI must be P1 and will have a 4.4 in the front. You might just have a 4.4 in the original box, in which case you'll be dead lucky.

Drive no further and tell me the complete code for what came out and for what went back in.
