Default Best gearbox and diff oil for 2007 DCCD

Hi all,

Since I have no search function, just wonder what is recommended for 6 speed sti DCCD box and rear diff (I understand the rear diffs on 07+ are gear not clutch?).

I used castrol syntrax on my old 6 speed with good results but wonder what is best now with DCCD function?

May not reply before xmas as I'll be out partying! Thanks

Just give Alyn at ASPerformance a ring 0191 4103770. He'll know and be able to supply by mail order (always good service).

I use miller 75/90 fully syn in my 06 sti box and same in rear diff but i am going to go with the 75/140 miller f/syn for rear diff at next service.

We have found Redline Lightweight Shockproof (the blue one) to be excellent with the 6speed and works fine with the DCCD. As for the rear diff you need an LS type oil, which may be labelled specifically or described as suitable for LSD diffs. You can tune the rear diff to a certain extent with the oils, or a friction modifying additive. We have have good results with Redline 75/90W and a small amount of Redline Friction modifying, and also the Millers 75/90W LS and 80/140LM BM oils.

Thanks guys but what does the fully syn do for gear changing? Just wonder as my old 6 speed didn't like fully at all, it would "snick" into gears - cant see the DCCD box having better gears and syncs to handle fully synth oil, is that the case though?
