Default what gear oil? 95 sti ra

Anyone know the gear oil requirements for a rear diff & trans from a 1995 subaru wrx sti type ra? I have a 95 sti RA and planning to do the trans/rear diff fluid soon. I've never had a DCCD subaru before and especially a jdm car at that...so I'm trying to figure it out...just not sure if it requires a friction modifier or just snag some good 75w90 and call it good! Thanks

you need an oil thats suitable for a diff and transfer box with the DCCD. The Silkolene Silktran Syn 5 is ideal

Rear diff needs LS type, BOA90 for example. gearbox oil is same as a non DCCD, so a decent 75w90 as mentioned above.

Sorry... surprisingly I'm looking for the same answer...... Gearbox oil AND diff oil for my 2003 STI (Non DCCD).....

Would the Silkolene SILKTRAN SYN 5 stuff as mentioned by Tim be good for both diff AND gearbox?

How about the slightly cheaper... Fuchs Titan Sintopoid (which just so happens to be on promotion till tomorrow)???

Fuchs TITAN SINTOPOID SAE 75W-90 synthetic gear oil

Thanks guys. I don't think I'll be able to find Silkolene SILKTRAN SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil where I'm at (I'm in Okinawa, Japan) but will try. I have seen some motul products and was going to get some motul 300 gear oil 75w90 which has the same SAE/API specs.

To madhatter, just remember you need a different type of oil (from your gearbox) for your rear diff, since your rear diff has a plated LSD.

Other impreza turbos may or may not have a plated rear LSD, more common is a viscous type which can use the same oil as used in the gearbox.

The Gear 300 is a brilliant oil and ideal for for the gearbox. The Motul 90PA is the one for the diff if you can get that
