I'm attempting to max out the power output of a non-turbo EJ20 (MY00) - hoping to break the 100KW mark. At the moment, I managed to attain 90KW (peaking at around 5600rpm) at wheels with the following mods:
- full extractors 4-2-1.
- 2.25in hiflow cat.
- 2.25in straight thru exhaust.
- 3in intake with K&N pod filter.
- Unichip piggy back computer.

My last dyno session showed that at full throttle, MAP reading gradually drops about 5KPA from 4500rpm - 6000rpm. What does that mean? Is 5KPa a large drop?

I have various people telling me that my standard CAMS are running out and I need hotter cams to get past the 5600rpm peak.. with MAP
dropping before 5600rpm, doesn't that mean my cams can suck more air but the intake system cannot supply more?

Anyone knows if the standard throttle body on the non-turbo is the same as the turbo version. Would it improve my peak power if I swap to a large one?

Thanks for any comments.

there isnt a huge amount of knowledge of tuning the N/A Impreza in the UK. The best bet for you is to take a look at the American Market, they have run the 2.5RS N/A cars for a while and that used to be their only high performance Subaru so they tuned the N/A engines as they had no choice.

A good starting point is trey cobb, check out http://www.cobbtuning.com/main.html

Yeah...all other countries, I think, features the turbo version as their performance model. I am really looking for good forums that offer real technical info instead of subjective opinions and so far I haven't had any luck until I got to Scoobynet.

I might just start with a cams upgrade (most likely from MRT Rally in Sydney, Aust).. anyone know of a good street cam profile?

Cool

Syms Racing Team had a 2L NA EJ20 running 290PS in the JTCC a few years ago. Dry sump, throttle body over each cylinder etc...
