Default 4th gearbox and another major issue

ok people im on my 4th gearbox now in my95 wrx jdm turbo import,
i changed it around 2 months ago as the last on shredded the teeth,
anyway all was fine but over last week or so its been a bit hard to get it to go into 3rd and 4th no crunching just had to push it a little harder to get it into gear.coming down into the gears was the harder that going up throught them.anyway was out sunday driving along went to go into 5th and the gearbox was having none of it so managed to get it to a parking space reversed in and the gearbox locked up.just got stuck in reverse. tryed everything to get it out.in the end i had to start the car wiggle the gearstick and it poped out after that it drove home again fine just was a little stiff again going into 3rd and 4th, went out today and i push the clutch down and selected all gears fine but go into reverse and it gets stuck again like its getting trapped only way i can release it is to wiggle the gear stick when the car is running. now im a little stuck with this one as the last 3 box when they went while driving you could hear clanging and knocking and banging. but not with this box still fines fine when i drive it no strange noises just problems selecting few gears.but like i said not crunchs or grinds just hard to select and go into reverse and it gets stuck please help people as not sure if its my box that has gone again or if its something else any help would be much aprriciated kind regards ben

the oil has only been in there around 2 months i could try a oil change as wont cost that much the car is running around 350bhp now i no thats to much power for the gearbox but i actually have been taking it pretty easy on this box,it had not long had a rebuild before i bought it and was it tip top condition inside.as for driving with hand on gearleaver its 50/50 really mate i do occasionaly...............now i no i need either a 6 sped or a ppg box but never fitted one

Leaving your hand on the gear leaver can weaken the syncro's as your putting pressure against the flow, really you should just have your hand on the leaver when changing gears, so that won't help, and if its a standard none sti box, it will probably be eaten by the torque (take it your still running a 2ltr?) As a 2.5ltr will murder those gearboxes

yes mate im still running a 2lt and the box came out of a sti mate,
it has been getting harder and harder to change gears for a week or so now mate mostly once i have been driving it for little while but has got worse over time.the only thing that makes me think its not gone is there is not cloncking noises or banging noises like the other had when i drive the car it drives fine just stiff in 3rd and 4th and once go into revers dont want to come out

350bhp + broken gearbox = no suprise whatsoever

your only gonna need one bit of shockload to do enough damage for it to fail, wont always be instant death for it, but will have done the damage. alot of people find there gearbox dies a couple of weeks after going to santa pod, which is where the damage is actualy done.

your options are pretty simple, built ppg or 6 speed box, or your gonna be changng box's as regularly as you ar now

there must be a stronger box other than a plain ty752 sti box
are the p1 boxs not stonger or even the type r boxs.
i no i cant fit one if it has diff control but there must be another way around it.other than fitting a ppg box or a 6 speed box.i see people running newer shape sti`s at 400bhp with no problems althought they are the ty754 box
