Can enyone help with this? I seem to be able to run higher boost in lower gears. When setting up the Dawes I went on a long straight run. 7000rpm in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and fourth with no problems. However in fith I seemed to hit the fuel cut at what seemed like the same boost. Any Ideas anyone? I do not usually only change at 7000rpm before you slate my bad driving.

Yes it does depend on gear. You don't need to go to 7000RPM to test a Dawes. Get it in 5th and floor it at 2500 and keep it floored so that you have held maximum boost for over 5 seconds. Trouble is it could still be very close to fuel cut, so when you are not fuel cutting turn it back a further 1 PSI or 0.07 bar. Then you should not have any trouble as you know you are at least a decent way away from fuel cut. You will only get constantly irritated if you try to run right near to fuel cut all the time. Keep it conservative, enjoy the extra low down and top end, and don't get too hung up about running "optimum" midrange boost - it won't happen!
