I have one fitted to my car, fine for normal driving at 450/400, but wont last long if launching.

API supplied the exedy for mine.

I'm sure Alan will tell you himself when you phone but just to make you aware incase you want to look into other options before you phone (not saying dont phone him here just cant think of any other way to write this), i spoke to Alan just the other week about supplying me a clutch to fit to a friends car and he initially recommended Exedy (which i was happy with as i'd heard many good reports) but he then contacted me again saying that after talking to his supplier he would no longer supply Exedy as there has been problems with them of late and he then recommended Helix but they were a good bit dearer.

Some guys here in Austria use ACT organic clutches and are very happy with them!
I also use one with my 6 speeder and it is a very good clutch even for dragracing with about 400/450!

You'll not go wrong with either an Exedy Uprated Organic or one of the ACT offerings.

This about issues with Exedy is rubbish you just have to buy from the right places.

I had an Exedy and it coped with 400 of each after I'd ripped the centres out of two AP's

The trouble is, you're all correct. We've been using the Exedy uprated organic for ages. At first, we weren't getting unacceptable judder from them. Lately that isn't the case. The issue is that the standard 5 speed 230 mm clutch has a tendency for judder, my virtually new P1 did it, made worse when the flywheel gets high spotted. This is a frequent problem, made easier by fitting a new flywheel. What do we do? fit a new flywheel every time? We prefer to use a standard flywheel. I personally don't like light flywheels on cars that aren't used for circuit racing. On a drag car a light flywheel is a positive disadvantage.
Naturally, we react to feedback, and I kept getting issues with the Exedy uprated version, to the extent that we actually got a refund from Exedy for one particularly bad example. The stock version is fine. We are no longer supplying the uprated version, at least until I hear from Exedy that they've fixed what they are saying isn't busted!

The APi uprated Exedy [ improved by us here in the Uk ] doesn't display ANY of those bad signs and is a genuine Japanese Exedy as a base. There are so many cheap and nasty copies out there, it is becoming difficult to tell which is which.

We supply ours with a lightened standard flywheel [ 7kg's ] and have had nothing but praise for them from every quarter.

Call me if you're serious about a decent clutch that will do what you ask.

How much are these for a six speed?
And what sort of power can they cope with?

Sorry for jumping on your thread

Thanks
