No drive when dccd is open
Hi
While driving to work i lost my drive while my diff was in the open position. When i tried the dccd in the lock position the car would drive then when i put it back to the open position it would free wheel. I drive a 95 sti type ra.
Anyone any ideas
Cheers stevie

You've lost drive to at least one of the wheels. Most likely to be a bust driveshaft but could be a number of things, from crunched dropgears to a broken diff.
Did you hear a bang when the drive went, and do you hear any strange noises now if you unlock the diff?
Either way, don't drive it unless you absolutely have to, and if you do, keep the centre diff locked, and your foot off the throttle until you've had the car looked at.

If with the DCCD open the rear prop is spinning and your going nowhere its at the rear - probably the diff failed, if the prop is stationary its the front drive that has failed (probably pinion gear) and its a box out job.
As SP says, don't drive it more than you have to and keep off the gas!

thanks for that guys i've just dropped the car off at the mechanics. They think it might be the clip in the diff which holds the driveshaft in place which has made the driveshaft pop out. Heres hoping
