Default Using Subaru Drivetrain

I confess I don't own or have ever driven a subaru! but I was looking at drivetrain options for my other project and a number of people suggested I look at what the subaru world has to offer.

I am building a fullbodied custom special race car as pictured below.
Volvo 5 cyl whiteblock engine 300HP+. Finished vehicle weight will be sub 600kg.

I am looking for is a strong manual gearbox that I can mate to my volvo engine. Is it possible to remove the central diff/transfer box and run subaru gearbox in rwd drive only?
I know, I know I will have to either fab an adapter plate or machine the bellhousing whatever I do. I have extensive fabrication facilities but not unlimited funds hence I'm looking in a different direction to most
EDIT,it appears using a gearbox in 2wd is no goer unless someone knows better.

Also and more importantly I'm after an lsd rear differential and driveshafts. Is there a list of which cars have rear lsd's and their ratios so I know what i'm buying?

I have started using the search facility on here but its difficult deciphering
all the acronyms and codes when you're not familiar with subaru parlance. Ask me about ford rear differencial ratios or volvo engines and I'll be ok

If anyone can point me toward any helpful info that would be much appreciated. This is my project below, not the actual car but identical.

The whole system is designed to split power to all four wheels, and you want to overload it by making it RWD ?

Use a "cossie" 2wd set-up. IMHO
