Cleaning a Blitz SUS cone filter

Anyone have an idea as to the best way of cleaning one of these stainless steel mesh type filters?
I've had mine on my WRX for a couple of years, and although it's not in a terrible state (probably beacause most of the dirt just passes straight through it!
) it could do with a bit of a spruce up!
Any advice appreciated!
