I have just fitted a excedy clutch 230mm to My UK2000 turbo 1999 Impreza Wagon

Dont even try fitting a 225mm clutch plate, the clutch boss size is different and therefore the clutch plate springs will catch on the flywheel bolts, I know from experience. Pay the extra money for the 230mm. think there is only 40 quid difference.

Hi pal, measure the thickness of the flywheel first, before skimming, if you are unsure if it has been done before!! Over skimming can also result in the clutch plates springs hitting the flywheel bolts...this eqals mega upset, tears and tools flying about When you have spent a few hours putting it all back together again. When I did my clutch I checked for fractures etc.. Luckily the flywheel was ok and got away with just gentle electric sand, with really fine paper.. a strange tip i saw on a american youtube video and it worked just fine..
otherwise I would of been ripping hair out.. Hope this helps

Sounds like it, The clutch plate size 230mm, for both 1999 - 2000 models. both My dad and I have 1999 Impreza wagons, both clutch plates that we have taken out are 230mm, replaced with the same! I tryed fitting a 225mm as I was told it would fit, but it didnt as the clutch plate boss is smaller, the springs in the plate where catching on the flywheel bolts and my flywheel had never been skimmed. The 230mm costs about £170.00 from excedy clutches (Ebay) Took me 4 to 5 hours to fit it. On ramps!
