Depends what you mean, its a stock centre diff with a gob of weld in it, making it very pricey for what it is (I have an old centre diff I could do that to for a lot less! - in fact you cam make me an offer, I know where I can get it welded first as well!)
The rear axle on a non DCCD STi is a bit marginal to take all the power, if you fit tha STi R180 rear diff that means new prop, driveshafts rear hubs and brakes as well.
Removing the front 'axles' (Driveshafts are not axles!) sill mean stripping the centre shaft out and keeping the outer through the hub and inner for those models were its needed to keep the gearbox oil in!

Hello simon could weld that part my self (we weld alot of diffs) just being new the impreza and not knowing what componets can take what power is my big down fall at the moment.
just want too know how much work would be involved to make it reliable with that part welded.
do all the parts you spoke of above fit as a direct replacement or would i have to machine up new adaptors ect?
is the STi R180 rare? never heard of the R180 thats all.
hope to speak again soon mate.
