Default Is my turbo dying?

I have a 2003 wrx done 95k engine is pretty much standard.
But recently i hear new noises.. theres a sort of whistling breathing noise happening when i think the turbo is starting to cut in, does this mean the turbo is dieing? and what else could be going at this sort of millage??? sometimes the car pulls really hard other times it seems limp and slow, yesterday i was pulling in 3rd and felt slow then a thump in my back and the car started pulling really hard

I use standard unleaded normally from shell as I found using shell super unleaded made the car slower for some reason even tho it ran smoother or do you mean my fuel pump could be knackerd?

Turbos can start whistling with age, and u probably find it is more noticeable in high gears? This doesnt mean its dying. I would service the car, fresh oil, filters and plugs and see if you notice any difference?
