6spd clutch in a Classic 5spd.. possible?
Is it possible to fit a clutch kit for a 6spd into a classic 5spd, I know the 6spd is a bit bigger in diameter, but anything else different, will it fit/work?

i did read somewhere that the 6 speed starter teeth was slightly different but not 100%,my mates been using his for 12 months now with no issues,we used the 5 speed thrust bearing and fork which i believe are the same, there is a tin under tray at the bottom of the box which remove all together or bend it down sightly

Is this a better option than a stage one standard clutch, as looks like a good idea, also is it just the webs inside the bell housing that have been ground away or has the slot in the bottom been done as well. I presume this would work on a newage WRX as well. May be worth considering if/when I need to replace the clutch on mine, presume 6 speed flywheel clutch plate and cover used.

it was fitted to a newage 5 speed wrx, only reason we attempted it was the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate fell on my mates lap for 100 quid, yes just the webbing and a touch of the bottom all simple enough to do

it is a grat idea to have a high torque holding clutch in a classic that still has factory or near factory driveability, i was thinking of this with ppg as alternative to exedy hyper or a paddle clutch, i have around 420ftlbs to 430ftlbs of torque at moment

Ken : I have dropped a bollock here. The job was replacing a five speed clutch and flywheel, fitted by others to a car with a six speed conversion and not a five speed box. Sorry for the confusion.
We normally fit 225 and 230 mm clutches to five speeds and the six speed are 240 mm.
