Maybe it is not that new - post from December just resurrected. Thought it might be interesting.

Bob,

Slight difference with these, is that they're using a "Garrett" core, and compressor cover, not the VF series core, and cover, with a Garrett compressor wheel.

Yet to see any decent comparative results, and they don't currently seem to have the have many options offered in the UK, apart from the PE turbo's.

The "Garrett/IHI" hybrids should open up a host of other options, but ultimately, will always be limited by the P18/P20 exhaust housings.

However, it won't be long before a variety of Garrett based "bolt on's" will be available, and these will be far better suited to those looking for "big power".

Mark,
Tell me more about the Garrett's, who will be selling them and when will they be available.I have got the early type turbo with a 90 degree entry, I think I will have to sought this out and get a later inlet manifold to get a decent turbo with a staight entry. Do you know of anyone who has carried out this mod for advise.
Colin.

Wink

yeah, speaking of mods from 90 degree to straight entry, is the inlet manifold a straight swap? also can i use my injectors/fuel rails etc, or have they fettled anything else?
John - looks interesting the turbo info. i have a knackered T3 garrett in the shed, not thinking of using it for obvious reasons, but does the core/bearing housing fit my turbine housing? (early impreza type engine).
